Left Wondering

courier_mail_2205101

left wondering – hardly a new state; they’re
creating implausible fairy tales from recycled
papier-mâché again

a penchant of the QLD Liberal National Party
it seems, shaped by partisan pages of a
pulped paper press

if there’s to be critical analysis we won’t see
it in the Courier Mail, but I digress – was I
actually heading somewhere?

as if it matters in a dead situation where the
deed is less voter propriety than a poll selling

Flat Earthers

Flat Earthers and loony scientists, this
is to advise your carbon signatures are
forthwith repealed; sure, it won’t make
a difference in the larger scheme, but
it will reduce atmospheric effluence

You’re anaerobic bacteria equivalence,
feedlot fuelled sceptical demiurges whose
de-clamorous rule sustains fart making;
too much is risked maintaining benign
and beggared levels of tolerance –

So get thee hence! Indeed it will be a
good day when sweetness of the air’s
scent is less blessed with cow manure
than a view of carbon neutral practises
keyed to the World’s real needs

Political Risibility

crest

Can’t see beyond the
Me/I invocation –
that collectivity of
liberal associations
implying We as equals

Well there’s at least
two of us the same
don’t you agree? Of
course, for better or
worse there’s You too

Then there’s He with
the gruff voice on the
phone; no, it isn’t a
threat – We are wise
to our own best needs

So when I/Me speaks
rashly no-one escapes
fulmination of portentous
events which must have
been out of character

In Your defence We pay
for docile deference with
integrity unimpeached;
everyone gains faith
when we dance in tune

Stained In A Handkerchief

hanky

No escaping assiduously argued
tedium through six decades; but
in a sense all rubrics of new views
reduced to shades of ungracious
and trivial intolerance; where we
sprang fresh and indulgent from
youthful springtide this rot aged
before sagacity had even arrived

Still today’s tears well free and fall
easily – nothing’s changed to be as
dramatic, but they’re the last allies;
if we’ve a chance it will be in league
with eyes crying compassionately &
a past stained in a handkerchief
