The dream was perfect,
the imagery sharp and
clear, where the line was
marked on the earth
we stood knowing there
the madness must end.
We toed the line and
peered into a future
just inches away, I
could hear my soldiers
grumble in their less than
perfect assessment.
There in the brilliance of
an idea we waited for
something which explained
why a treaty, where the
combatants kept their arms,
would ever work.
