It Takes A Cup Of Coffee (to set me free)

Can you show
gratitude,
humility
and indolence
at the same time?

Hard to imagine
this sublime set
of states of feeling
acting in concert –
being soul revealing.

Yet I am grateful
for each pristine dawn,
humbled by the
magnanimity of the gift
and surprised

that the energy
suppressed provokes
torpor and indolence.
It takes a cup of coffee
to set me free.
