Carpet

Carpet rarely rates a rage until
it fails to please; now in this day
and age that spells ‘opportunity’
for creative carpet layers to pull
the wool over provincial eyes.

So we work costs per m2 against
criteria so out of date a dinosaur
could calculate the sum on two
toes still leaving us confused. Yet
the only question asked is:

How long you intend staying here?

Me? I ask. Forever, if you stay. But
if you’re planning leaving, well I’ll
leave to be with you. Must have
been the right answer – now I am
assured this carpet will be laid.
