you hear them
clear, the ringing in
of echoes neat
of yesteryears that
sing with joy
my ears embrace
those reveries:
though ill at ease
this heart beats still
with gratitude
I quake in
vacant loneliness
of platitudes
while echoes fill
an aching heart

Oh Ivan,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely poem! Sent chills through my soul.
How wonderful you displayed memories, regrets if any, hearts together and alone. I loved it!
I will return to read this one again and again.
Oh, and Ivan, I liked the style of this poem.
See, BIG things do come in small packages.

I once campaigned against the shorter verse; I am now a committed supporter - if only because it makes SMS texting easier! I actually sent this one to my wife who is away having some private R&R time to herself
