wallet filled with Spartan
charity and remand school
gifts – a head of perplexity
it’s as good as it gets when
we begin the next phase
life should be easy as a
pocketful of promises in
a warm Spring – less said
of character for one thing
too many expectations
being content is the aim
what else placates a full
bellied gratification and
a dry place to sleep with
magnificent dreams
‘tho it seems too much
to take if you aren’t there –
all things become trivial
without the unstinting
patronage of your being
