an inner peace pursues aloof
this conflict dreamed; there is no
friction here between these entities
consumed in mutual grace
and yet irrational moment’s fear
expressed as baleful silence leaves
a passing doubt – palpably
conjoined in fretful wavering
but when a smile infuses balm
the carnage ends in spaces clean;
before the scene rewinds again an
innocence replete returns
