Writers’ Night

writer

to have to write for life includes
too many ‘to’s’ to be a bearable
apology; and ‘tho a haut couture
of clothes unique for words one
wears compares too bleak to be
ideas of fancy, lose or free – so
neither state equates aufait with
what is meant as there or here

tho’ street-aware can tap their
feet in blissful harmony, hum in
tune to rhythms rare, syncopate
a ditty shared, they’d be as lost
to terror’s plight – despair awake
as writers’ night
