Vague Apprehension

vague apprehension

Is it courageous to disdainfully fend
off feelings of vague apprehension?
Our Wise Men advocate no easier way
to discern the wood from the trees; if
fleeing from your imagination makes
more sense than a waking realisation
you’re afraid of it, maybe it’s a bit
more agreeable to stay slumbering

That is how this day began, belief one
has to wake to have been asleep rests
comfortably – yet awareness is a harsh
mistress, nothing experienced proves
your ever ‘being’ as precisely, or yet
redresses modicums of better sense
