Antediluvian Plan

clip_image001

This antediluvian plan you profess of sleeping as
a worn out leisure activity isn’t easy to digest –
it parses too passionately in my way of thinking
an intransitive reflection brinking the crazy idea
there’s no necessity attached – you won’t see it
objectively but it shouldn’t mean slipping into
effete daydreams is a gross overindulgence of
too much hedonism to be realistically of use

Were I entrenched of the same belief there’d be
occasion to plan comfortable siestas in arranging
seating to avoid TV channel ennui – yes, where
the forty-wink revelations come to pass; for me
to be spared a morass of TV inanity is as grand
an indulgence as the luxury of reading in bed
