Turn-Coat Words

Lies I can live with – subtle or bare-faced
they’re currency politicians are made of;
where I grit my teeth anguished is in the
way their campaigns create implications
out of redundancies in colloquial speech –
those old adages are supposed to be an
accord that we need only listen for what
we want to hear – but not any more

Clive Palmer’s mob assures us it is dead,
buried under a cloud of political spin for
reasons clearly too obscure to elucidate
without giving double-speak advantages
in turn-coat words to two-faced buggers
who’re effectively the only opposition
