Can we take a break from politics with
little ‘p’, it seems to state the case
aright, not go off taking flights of
fantasy as subjects scraped off urinals
The Honourable P. Costello, Member
for Higgins, deems appropriate?
‘The Australian’ carries comments
on Costello’s rants to new extremes,
a balanced art of saying naught but
phrasing words in malignant ways
to mealy mouth whoever pays
their shameful salaries.
Who reads editorials anyway? You’d
need a reading age of ten at least
to learn the feast of words would
scarcely feed a starveling; there is no
marrow in the bones of this piss-weak
Aurora Australis of editorialese.
But The Hon P. has aspirations of being
PM! It would be a Rudd(y) shame were
he dumped in favour of the modest
man he slates; we need him there in
Parliament to put to rest the giddy
claim politicians are even-balanced!
