Simplicity & The Old IP

Know your nascent enemy they say,
a necessary evil when you play
for heady stakes – make mistakes,
expose vulnerabilities.

You’ve appeased the PH doyens whom
you think will give you room to grow
into the soul you want to be – and gasp
aghast, fail the class; mistaken identity!

Simplicity and the old IP* are masters
you’ve ignored, deplored the crass
and obvious – the simple rhyme, the
tearful line, the doodling pathos ending.

Well, excuse me please, what is IP?
That, my friend, is where you’ll ken
the answers evermore, the open door,
the soul-filled fame at IP’s end.

For cognoscenti; your fame (or
oblivion) rests in unique IP address
hits on your Home Page. But for you
and me, popularity equals simplicity.
