Sunburn


That day in the sun
never ended – stays
etched in memory
precociously intact,
gilded strands kept
under lock and key.

Blue forever stands
sentry where sand
spilled innocent from
pockets shallow filled,
the sea sings soft melodies,
waves a-shush with sleep...
