Tied Up In You

I can’t regret the things
I’ve done with you,
or forget our time together,
we were meant to be as one
within this World or in another.
There is no simple way
of being more or less persuaded,
we’ve always found a way
to satisfy the roles we played.

Forty years have come and
gone, it is an awesome long
progression – a moment we
prolonged became the World
we built together. There is no
simple way of saying how we
stayed together – except to say
these words, we’re satisfied
with roles we played.

If you sense a hint of a Don McLean
standard – you’re right. It’s been
bugging me for days.
