momentarily made peace with myself
the need to get that next breath of air
or suffocate effected a state where
commonsense finally prevailed
there’s no practical benefit berating
one another for failure when it hasn’t
happened yet – honesty suggests the
blame goes both ways
but we’ve never been honest each to
each in our entire history – you seek
fame for whatever it takes while the
other half of me just waits to breathe
