Absence
you don’t get used to it
he said with a wry grin
sleep starvation kills
quicker
than lack of nourishment
you see I made plans
in self-defence where
lame excuses appear
rational should motivation
fail again
I know it best to let
the days go before they begin
no ways will you
repair everything
anyway
haven’t given up
imagining though
and I might live content
would your raucous absence
let me sleep
