If I stay
I will see less
of what I imagine most
as the face in the mirror
grows grey

If I go
there’s no
guarantee I will greet
what hopeful thought gladly
feeds me each day

If I stay it
will present
loneliness as a

If I go
still being alone
may see in me
the best company
solitude knows

If I go it will
at least condense
distance between dreams
and reality though
the gulf still stays

It is a fence
that keeps me here
the fear that you
actually wanted it
this way
