Words Worth (Reading)

Been ‘discovered’, maybe,
an anonymous guy wrote a
friend supposedly saying my
poetry was worth reading

Can’t decide whether that’s
backhand, sotto voce praise
sent kind of, y’know, nudge,
nudge, wink, wink – or an

Affirmation of past tense;
my friend’s a present-day
editor and not that naive,
plus a credible poet to boot

But I’m no better or worse
for hirsute news delivered
in a line on Facebook for
the World to plagiarise

‘Tho I’ll continue as always
surprised my words worth
reading – an opulent fantasy
in a scalable guise
