Avoidance

avoidance

When avoiding the issue wastes
more energy than doing the damn
thing in the first place we descend
into reflective mordancy, widen an
insuperable debate, seek sacrificial
lambs; the argument for common
sense back-flips on what we agree
is purely bureaucratic precedence

Where we’re standing still seems
safer than career risks based upon
consensus of naive ideas, for that
budgetary constraint is praised as
the grand expression of tactical
malaise born of worn out strategy
