a day that set words to music –
although there were passages
that bumped and grimaced it
did not detract from a refined
mood and the children played
with good grace; the pièce de
résistance was a great roast
slow-cooked on the barbeque
gastronomes would only make
a fuss of the meat whereas the
Kids heaven saw sausages so
sweetly grilled they melt in the
mouth with couscous – as wine
and conversation gaily flowed
