Would be nice to see a little rain,
not from a distance, quite happy
to be in the midst of a cathartic
downpour, even a few minutes –
no worries there, benefits offset
any imagined distress – it’s just
that the rainclouds veer and go
elsewhere as they draw close
Considered a rain dance – like a
hint saying the trees are thirsty
& we’re concerned sort of thing;
they keep their counsel serenely
silent however, vibrate leaves,
remain austere
