Political Fungi

Whether magic mushrooms or a fool’s folly in
toadstools they’d be akin to fairy tales we get
from Canberra; whether it is a myth that our
politicians are neither plant nor animal – nor
even effectively mineral, could have bases in
fact were they actually useful fungi – so
that explains it you exclaim, and it makes a lot of
contagious sense to consider them that way

Rampant fungal growth explicates all of their
weird behaviour without compromise, if they
survive to maturity, but in their view they’re
all legends overnight anyway; I’d suppose it
an effect of the excrescence they live in that
causes such exponential augmentation
