Thirteen minutes past nine and the debate
makes less sense than incessantly regaling
old wound pains; this epithet’s ‘political
hegemony dialogue’ forgets just who he’s
talking to in ‘I-wanna-be-recognised’ gyp
and little said sounds cleverer than others
sharing the air space – our emcee knows
the game well and adroitly plays along

It is his show and once upon a time he was
as eminently assured of getting the words
out while making his point clear; he never
needed to blacken reputations by casting
aspersions or laying blame – that all came
with the consequence of ratings
