Photographing the latest selection of regional reds
hardly expresses my admiration - but the picture’s
much better at saying, ‘hmm, now here’s were the
palate gets to rule’ - so in a sense it is flavours we
were schooled in; those tannins express things we
dream about much better than imagination, tasted
and reasoned as Cabernet, Grenache, Merlot and
Shiraz, with a spicy plum hint of Tempranillo to go
So my poem for the day’s pondering on events yet
to take place, certainly not too far away, maybe as
accompaniment for haute cuisine - or of the BBQ -
where even the meekest ribeye magnifies itself on
the threshold of grandeur & perfection savoured in
the taste of dark berry fruit that it certainly favours
