You’d consider it naively
dangerous to drive on tyres
way past safety margins – a
no-brainer, but these were not
ordinary steel-belted radials;
arrogant specifications claimed
peace-of-mind extravagance
that they could not fail
Oh yeah, the Service Station
mechanic says, they’re made
indestructible – like you, who
listens to such misinformation;
just bear in mind its wear that
grows the rubber trade
