Disingenuity

unlike an unsullied attempt to
seriously persuade yourself
there’s nothing to worry about

no broken odd and ends litter
the access ways or prevent you
from staying or leaving

nothing stands between what
you’ve been thinking is amiss
or enunciating ways of fixing it -

except you and the four square
redundancy of intangible debt
you’re parlously afraid of

disingenuous plans that were
meant to grant unlimited access
to free will’s savings

but I had it before you grieve –
so why are we paying for what’s
supposed to be free?
