Sense of permanence went West
not in an unseemly rush – more
like a slow leak of air
Goose bumps first, then stumbling,
an inchoate unevenness of
quaking gait
Refreshing fears almost forgotten
dressed long since as old
wounds of conscience
Ending sagacity – jurisprudence
of duality, paired commonness,
unravelling its logic

Our (Western) culture is full of "awareness" and "commonness". On the one hand, it is something good, but on the other hand - didn't we lose something important? Good poem.
ReplyDeleteThanks Zim. Kind of like finding oneself without having to wade through a 'thesaurus' of other's ideas!
