Quiet Time
It is quiet time of the day – not a
post-morning hush as you’d likely
surmise but an hour after lunch –
even in the land of make-believe
infants & adults can agree on the
noon conspiracy to weary eyes, a
fatigue ensured with an ageless
accord that is pure guarantee
From a wry play-on-words a truce
is veracity – though shy a reprieve
you won’t deny it’s respite; a calm
breathes quiet reigned in infants’
sleep, with hands busied cleaning,
repairing – and the next round
